At about 4:00pm, Jackson was on her way to swim practice, driving a car east on Versailles Road. As she began to veer off of the roadway to the right, Jackson corrected towards the left, but unfortunately collided with another eastbound car. This crash sent both cars off of the road to the left and into the oncoming lanes, where Jackson's car was hit by a westbound vehicle, and all three vehicles caught fire. The crash left Jackson trapped inside of her burning car, and despite efforts to save her, she was killed. Many other people were injured from the collision and ensuing flames, though there is no information on the identities of other victims or the severity of their injuries.
