One lane now open on I-71 S after deadly crash
One southbound lane is now open with the other still close as officials are clearing the scene.
Police have rerouted I-71 drivers onto exits 43 (English) and 44 (Langstaff) toward Carrollton.
UPDATE: Semi crosses median, killing Louisville woman in head-on crash
The preliminary investigation revealed the semi travelling northbound crossed the median and struck a passenger vehicle head-on. The driver of the car was flown to University hospital. The semi driver was also taken to the hospital.
Second victim dies after crash on I-71 south
A preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle operated by Jordan Mefford, 23, of Carrollton, was traveling south on I-71 when a tractor-trailer traveling north crossed the median and struck Mefford head-on.
Mefford was taken by Air Methods to University of Louisville Hospital, where he died from his injuries Tuesday night.
