Man indicted for deadly DUI crash

A Louisville man is facing a murder charge for a deadly car crash. A grand jury indicted Joseph Smithson on murder, drug and other charges. Smithson was driving under the influence in July 2014 when he crashed into a concrete culvert on National Turnpike, according to court records. His passenger, Brenda Jackson, died at the scene. A warrant has been issued for Smithson's arrest.

Jackson was a passenger in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 p.m. The male driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
