Police say Wilton admitted that he has smoked marijuana and drank a pitcher of beer prior to the crash. Police say that Wilton stated at the scene, "I killed my friend, I killed my friend. I've been drinking."Police say a strong smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. Officials say they found marijuana and a pipe at the scene. Wilton also reportedly had slurred speech and red eyes.

When asked to provide a statement to investigators, Wilton then told police, "I don't know if I should without an attorney present. I think this might be really serious."

Christopher Wilton is facing charges of murder after he drove while under the influence of alcohol and marijuana and crashed his car, killing a man who was in the vehicle with him. The victim, identified as Christian Jenkins, as taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. Wilton was not injured. He is being held at Metro Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond.
