Martin B. Showalter, 59, dies, two injured in three-vehicle wreck on Cooper Chapel Road in Okolona, Kentucky
UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal Okolona crash
Police say a silver car was traveling north on Maple Road and did not stop at a four-way stop sign at the Cooper Chapel Road intersection. Investigators say the silver car hit a black car that was going west on Cooper Chapel Road and had the right of way.
Authorities say after the silver and black cars collided, the black car then hit a small passenger pick-up truck that was stopped at the intersection on Maple Road.
Showalter, who was the only person in the black car, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Officials say the silver car's driver was taken to University Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. According to Smiley, the driver is suspected of drinking and will face charges of murder and DUI. The driver's name will be released once the person is booked into Metro Corrections.
