All lanes of I-10 West reopen near Grosse Tete 12 hours after crash involving 7 vehicles

I-10 West was closed between the I-10/I-110 Junction and LA 77 (Grosse Tete). Traffic was detoured onto I-110 North, to US 190 West, I-49 South but all entrance ramps on I-10 West from LA 77 (Grosse Tete) and beyond remained open. A crash involving six 18-wheelers and a passenger vehicle shut down traffic on I-10 between Grosse Tete and I-110 in Baton Rouge for most of the day Tuesday. A truck carrying sugar was on its way to Oklahoma. The gravel truck caught fire at some point after the collision and ended up in the eastbound lanes.
