A Lake Charles man led Jeff Davis authorities on a pursuit on Interstate 10 Friday in a stolen vehicle before wrecking it on U.S. 90 just west of Welsh. James Alan Smith, 25, of 800 Holly Street, was arrested by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office on charges of flight from an officer, possession of stolen goods, driving under suspension and numerous traffic violations. He is also wanted for burglary and auto theft by Wake County, N.C. authorities.
