The child was not identified, but the sheriff's office said that on Sunday doctors moved the boy out of intensive care and into a regular room at Children's Hospital.
A 21-month old child was playing in the driveway at his house when his cousin, Derrick Populus, struck him with a car. Populus notified the family that the child had been injured, and then left the scene, failing to mention that he was the one that hit him. The boy was airlifted to a children's hospital in critical condition.
