Lisa Blinks, 35, killed in June 15 crash on Interstate 20 near Shreveport.
Sunday I-20 wreck victim identified
Authorities have identified a Shreveport woman who died Sunday afternoon following a two-car accident along a stretch of Interstate 20 in west Shreveport.
The victim was 35-year-old Lisa Blinks, front-seat passenger in a 1991 Chevrolet Caprice that collided with a 2002 Kenworth tractor-trailer just before 5 p.m. in the westbound lanes at the Pines Road exit, according to a Shreveport police release. Only minor injuries were reported by the involved drivers and two additional passengers in the Caprice.
Investigators determined from witness statement and evidence on the scene that the driver of the Caprice, 37-year-old Carlos Daniels of Shreveport, lost control of the vehicle, which struck the concrete retaining wall. The report said that as Daniels tried to regain control of the car, he apparently overcorrected, sending the sedan into the path of the westbound tractor-trailer driven by Elton Munsinger, 60, of Carthage Texas.
Blinks was taken to University Health Medical Center where she later died, the report said. Authorities do not suspect alcohol as a factor, but mandatory toxicology tests on both drivers were submitted to the Louisiana state police crime lab.
