4,000 residents without power after semi jackknifes, rolls on Route 191 at George’s Crossing in East Machias, Maine

More than 4-thousand customers lost power in Washington County Friday morning after a tractor trailer crashed. The tractor trailer jacknifed on an icy patch of Route 191 and rolled over at George’s Crossing in East Machias. The driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The truck and trailer were totaled, and it’s believed his cargo was destroyed. Authorities warn that route 191 in that area will be down to one lane for the rest of the day.
