Deputies say 21-year-old ATV passenger Chris W. Munday, of Middletown, was killed and 29-year-old ATV driver Kenneth M. Niblett, of Frederick, was in critical condition.
Two people inside the SUV - a woman and her 12-year-old son - were injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Maryland Natural Resources Police spokesman Candy Thomson says an agency officer saw the ATV run a stop sign at the intersection of Route 85 and Michael's Mill Road, about a quarter-mile from the crash. She says ATVs are prohibited on public roads.
