2 Rhode Islanders killed after crashing into the Charles River

BOSTON (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police have recovered the bodies of two Rhode Islanders after their truck ended up in the Charles River. State police confirm that Brian Arcand, 36, of North Smithfield and Rebecca Smith, 36, of Providence were killed in the accident.

Victims identified in Charles River crash

State Police have identified the two victims in Saturday's fatal Charles River crash as a man and woman from Rhode Island. The victims have been identified as 36-year-old Brian Arcand, of North Smithfield, and his passenger 36-year-old Rebecca Smith, of Providence. Their pickup truck then crashed through a barrier and into the water. Arcand and Smith were pulled from the pickup truck and rushed to Mass General Hospital, where they were both pronounced dead. The two people in the other car that was involved in the crash were uninjured.
