Officers responding to the area of Merrimack and Main streets around 7 a.m. found a man who had been fatally struck by a car, according to police.
Police ID victim of deadly Haverhill hit-and-run; search for driver underway
Detectives were later seen outside of a nearby home, where a banged up PT Cruiser was parked. They spent time examining a broken windshield and gathering evidence before having the car towed away to Haverhill police headquarters.
