A Rhode Island woman allegedly drove some 5 miles in the wrong direction on the Southeast Expressway early today and slammed into two vehicles including a snowplow, officials said. She is scheduled to appear in court here today on charges of operating under the influence and leaving the scene of the two crashes, according to State Police. Brenda Jarillo, 33, was arrested by State Police in Dorchester near Exit 12 around 3:30 a.m. today after she had driven in the wrong compass direction since being involved in a crash near Exit 8 in Quincy, officials said. According to State Police, Jarillo was originally traveling southbound on I-93 when she was involved in a minor crash near Exit 8, a crash that did not result in any injuries. Instead of stopping, however, Jarillo allegedly drove off. But, according to State Police, during the crash her car apparently got turned around and she drove away traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-93 until she crashed into the snowplow near Exit 12 in Dorchester. Jarillo listed Rumford, R.I., as her hometown, State Police said. She is scheduled to be arraigned today in Quincy District Court on dunken driving and multiple motor vehicle charges.
