Police: Driver under the influence hits and kills man in Stoughton Posted: Updated: A driver was arrested after police said he was driving under the influence and fatally struck a man in Stoughton. The Norfolk County District Attorney said the driver, a 33-year-old from Taunton, hit the 71-year-old Stoughton as he tried to cross the street. The driver was arrested and charged with OUI causing death and is expected to be arraigned on Monday. The D.A. said early evidence suggests the driver was out delivering pizzas. The incident happened near a Christmas tree lot on Park Street.

Taunton man pleads not guilty in crash that killed Stoughton businessman Posted: Updated: A Taunton man has pleaded not guilty following a crash that killed a well-known Stoughton businessman. Michael Burns, 33 of Taunton, pleaded not guilty at his Stoughton District Court arraignment Monday morning. Burns was allegedly driving a 2006 Chevy Malibu when he struck and killed Joseph Brady, Jr., 71, on Park Street on Dec. 11. Brady was the longtime operator of the Christmas tree lost on Park Street. Burns pleaded not guilty motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of drugs.
