Worcester police looking for hit-run car in Rt. 9 pedestrian injury

Police are asking for help finding a dark sedan they said struck and critically injured a pedestrian on Route 9 Tuesday night. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Lt. Timothy Walsh or Sgt. John Fallavollita in the accident reconstruction unit at (508) 799-8674.

Police found the pedestrian, a 38-year-old man from Templeton, bleeding from the head at 7:05 p.m. near 375 Belmont St. (Route 9). He was sent to UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. Police stated Wednesday the man was in serious but stable condition. Police said they believe the man enteredd into the road and was struck by a car, and the driver fled west on Route 9 and turned right onto Plantation Street. Witnesses described the car as a dark sedan — possibly a Honda Civic — with front-end and windshield damage.
