A pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train on the Providence Line in Mansfield on Thursday. The MBTA said all trains on the Providence Line were stopped due to police activity.

'€œI felt this bang and then this loud screeching,'€ Fuller said. '€œThey said you'€™re going to be here for a long time.'€

Man struck, killed by Amtrak train in Mansfield

A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train on the Providence Line in Mansfield on Thursday. A male, trespassing on the tracks, was struck by an eastbound Amtrak train in the vicinity of Norfolk Street. The MBTA said all trains on the Providence Line were stopped due to police activity. Thursday, crews responded to a call of a person possibly struck by a train. Transit Police detectives and representatives of Bristol County District Attorney's Office are currently investigating the incident.

East Providence man struck, killed by Amtrak train

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 36-year-old Matthew Cochran, of East Providence, died Thursday while on the railroad tracks in Mansfield.
