Tree limb fell on car, mother and daughter survived

A mother and her two year-old daughter narrowly escaped serious injury, after a very large tree limb fell on top of their car Thursday morning. According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, the limb fell from a tree on Roosevelt Avenue near the Gaucher Street Ramp at around 9:15 A.M., as the mother was driving south on Roosevelt. The branch crushed the entire front of the car, but mother and daughter were not seriously hurt. “They are both very lucky to be alive,” Delaney wrote in a statement on the department’s official Facebook page.
