West Springfield Police identify teenager killed in car crash

“He was ejected,” Detective Duffy told 22News. “His 15-year-old brother was in the car. There wasn’t a scratch on him because he had his seat belt on. Nimat didn’t.”
Nimat Umarov, 18, died Wednesday evening when he was ejected from his vehicle after it crashed on Route 5 South. Umarov’s 2007 Honda Civic was traveling at high speed when it crashed into a guardrail and skidded across the road, and went through another guardrail.
