Upon the arrival of Sheriffs Deputies, the driver of the Chrysler vehicle was outside of her vehicle, alert and talking; she had flagged down other drivers for help. The female in the Chevy vehicle was lying in the roadway unconscious.

The crash occurred after she lost control of her 2010 black Dodge Avenger and struck the retaining wall.
Her vehicle became disabled in the roadway and was struck by a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, officials said. The van was driven by a 52-year-old Chesterfield Township woman who taken to the hospital along with Hays.
The unnamed minivan driver was treated and released from McLaren-Macomb, officials said.
