Chesterfield Township man killed in two-vehicle crash

A 34-year-old Chesterfield Township man was killed Friday morning in a head-on collision on a two-lane road in the township, according to police. Michael Beers was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred about 7:10 a.m. on Chesterfield Road just south of 24 Mile Road, Chesterfield Township police said. The crash closed down Chesterfield Road for several hours, affecting arrival traffic at Carkenord Elementary School on 24 Mile Road, said Detective Sgt. Myers said investigators are perplexed about why the young mans vehicle crossed the center line. Beers was driving to work while the younger man driven a family member to work and was returning home.

But Friday morning Michael Beers, 34, was killed in a head-on collision that occurred on Chesterfield Road just south of 24 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township. The crash closed down Chesterfield Road for several hours, affecting arrival traffic at Carkenord Elementary School on 24 Mile Road, said Chesterfield Township Detective Sgt. Michael and Nicole Marie Beers of Chesterfield Township were looking forward to spending time with family this Christmas including their two young children. He was loved by many people, Nicole Beers said. The kind of father every mother would want for her kids, Nicole Beers said.
