Couple dead in crash on slick road in Lapeer County

Two people have died in a car crash in Lapeer County after the driver lost control and struck a car coming from the other direction. The Hinmans' Buick was hit by a Subaru Outback Monday night in Deerfield Township, 70 miles north of Detroit. The sheriff's department says the victims are 70-year-old James Hinman and 68-year-old Peggy Hinman, both from Columbiaville. The Buick was hit on the passenger side after crossing into the eastbound lane. The 29-year-old driver of the Subaru didn't have serious injuries.
