'I will live with this guilt for the rest of my life,' says man sentenced in fatal crash

In May, Roe was driving a silver 2013 Ford F-150 truck north on Parker Road when he reached for his phone and crossed the center line, crashing into Northrup's southbound gray 2007 Ford Fusion. Roe's blood-alcohol content was .125.
The man accused of being drunk when he caused the collision that killed 21-year-old Chelsey Northrup pled guilty in the Washtenaw County Trial Court Thursday. Garrett Roe, 36, from Dexter, admitted he'd been drinking alcohol before driving his pick-up truck. Roe's blood alcohol content level was .125. Roe pled guilty to one count of operating while intoxicated causing death, a maximum 15-year felony. Northrup, of Saline, was driving south on South Parker Road in Freedom Township when she was hit head-on about 10 p.m. May 4. Roe is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 26.
