Woman struck by 2 vehicles along roadway, later dies

The Macomb County sheriff's office says Thursday that Farai Gonzalez was walking along 21 Mile Road when she initially was hit by one vehicle. A second vehicle then struck Gonzalez as she lay in the roadway. Both drivers stopped after striking Gonzalez, who was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The sheriff's office says a deputy had earlier helped Gonzalez to a gas station after her car had apparently run out of fuel on 21 Mile Road, north of Detroit.
