UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in Warren accident was struck three times; one driver flees

The investigation of a traffic crash that killed a pedestrian in Warren early Thursday took an unusual turn nearly three hours after the tragic incident. Cortland Larry said Rook was struck on Schoenherr Road at Leonard Avenue, five blocks south of Nine Mile Road, at 6:57 a.m. Police officials request anyone with information about the fleeing driver or the incident to call the Warren Police Department at 586-574-4700. The witness reported the driver of a Chrysler PT Cruiser went around the Good Samaritan but drove over Rook. The incident is the second in three days in which a Macomb County pedestrian was killed.
