Pedestrian struck, killed in crash near Ypsilanti
At about 8:24 p.m., Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office and Ypsilanti Township Fire responded to East Michigan Avenue just east of Wiard Road for a report of a pedestrian struck.
Amputee was scooting across road when fatally hit near Ypsilanti
A witness told police that Penn, who police say was an amputee, was crossing the road by scooting on his buttocks, said Sgt. Keith Flores of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office.
