The sheriff’s department says that the 18-year-old Mt. Pleasant teen was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier west on E. Beal City Road just east of Summerton Road at about 6:00am Tuesday, when she hit a horse that was standing in the roadway. Deputies determined the horse had escaped from a fenced enclosure nearby.
