Two hospitalized after head-on crash in Pine Township

Two men were hospitalized after a fiery head-on crash Friday afternoon.
A fiery head-on car accident in Pine Township, Michigan left two men in the hospital Friday afternoon. The accident occured at approximately 2 PM on M-91 in Pine Township when an SUV driven by a 52-year-old man was driving erratically at high speed before failing to negotiate a curve south of Langston. The SUV crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting head-on with a pickup driven by a 60-year-old man. The SUV began leaking gas immediately after the accident and caught fire. According to police, a passerby then extinguished the flames. Both of the drivers were pinned inside their vehicles and had to be extricated. The SUV's driver did not appear to be wearing a seat belt. Both of the drivers were transported to the hospital. A German Shepard inside the pickup at the time of the crash was uninjured.
