Man’s body found in vehicle pulled from Muskegon River

According to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department, officials were called to the river near the Croton Dam at about 9:24 a.m. 
Fishermen in the area discovered a submerged vehicle, and the police dive team discovered the body of a white man inside, according to a release.

Authorities said fishermen spotted the vehicle about 150 yards downstream of the Croton Dam in the Muskegon River just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

While investigating, the county dive team found the body, described only as that of a white male. The sheriff's office says the body and the vehicle have been recovered from the river, which took several hours.
