Before emergency vehicles could arrive on scene, several other drivers collided with the vehicles involved in the initial wreck, according to the release.

Intoxicated student causes 7 car pileup

Emergency units in the area originally responded to an incident of a single car that had struck another vehicle in the rear.  The vehicle at fault was full of students on their way to the Kalamazoo area- a 23 year-old male at the wheel.
It was about 3:35am when a car full of students caused the intial rear-end collision that led to a seven-car pileup on I-94. The 23-year-old driver of that vehicle has been arrested for drunken driving, and while many people sustained minor injuries from the crash, no one was seriously hurt.
