West Michigan Police Officer Killed In Crash

The officer was a 10-year veteran of the Norton Shores Department. He leaves behind a wife and two children. Police said his name would be released later in the day.

Community responds to death of Norton Shores officer

Officer Jonathan Ginka, 34, was severely injured when his cruiser hit a tree early Wednesday morning on Henry Street between Ross and Forest Park roads. He died at the hospital.

Preliminary findings in police officer's fatal crash released

Ginka was a 10-year veteran of the Norton Shores Police Department. His funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Road.
