Clarkston man killed in single-car accident in Shelby Township

Investigators do not know if alcohol was a factor in the accident as the investigation is continuing, according to the release.

It was about 12:50pm when police received report of a single-vehicle crash on Schoenherr Road, where a 54-year-old man from Clarkston was killed. According to the investigation, the man was speeding north, veered off of the road to the right and overcorrected to the left where he struck a utility pole and eventually came to rest in some trees. So far it is unclear what caused the accident, but it is believed that that the man may have been suffering a medical emergency at the time of the crash.
