Troopers said 23-year-old Anthony Rice, along with his passenger 25-year-old Jacke Shears, both of White Pigeon, were stopped at the intersection of Crooked Creek Road and U.S. 12.
Rice entered the intersection to cross U.S. 12 and did not see the westbound traffic.
