Police believe the boy stepped into the roadway and was struck by a 2000 Dodge SUV. The SUV was heading north on S. It appears the vehicle slowed down and moved over as the driver attempted to pass the pedestrians, the release states, before the boy may have stepped into the road. The boy, whose name was not released, was taken to Toledo Hospital by Medflight, the release states. The 35-year-old Jackson woman driving the SUV and her passenger were not injured.
