Parts of I-75 have been opening and closing because of numerous accidents. The southbound lane of I-75 at Marlette Road near Waters was closed Monday evening. I-75 from Vanderbilt to Wolverine was closed for over three hours today because of a huge pileup. That stretch of the interstate is now open. Local emergency responders say people were going too fast and white out conditions made it hard to see. At least 10 cars were involved in a crash and about 10 more went off the road to avoid an accident. A large bus with three people on board, as well as a logging truck were involved too.

Whiteout conditions were to blame for a closure beginning 11:30 a.m. and ending around 2:15 p.m. Monday from Exit 290 to 282 resulting after a logging truck, Indian Trails bus and several other vehicles left the roadway. The closure allowed emergency crews to clear the scene, which included unloading a logging truck involved in the accident.
