4 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Aitkin County Crash on Icy Highway

Four people were killed and two were seriously injured in a crash in Aitkin County on Saturday. The crash occurred in the area of Highway 65 south of Highway 18, near Mille Lacs Lake. Sample sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, passenger and 21-year-old Amanda Christiansen—of McGregor—had non-life-threatening injuries from the crash. State patrol said passenger and 25-year-old Kevin Meyer—of McGregor—sustained serious injuries in the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the highway was icy at the time. Saturday in Aitkin County when the four people in a Mazda SUV collided with a Chevrolet Suburban heading the opposite direction on Highway 65. The crash was one of more than 150 accidents reported statewide on Saturday as more than 3 inches of snow fell in the Twin Cities Metro.

Services Set for Columbia Heights Family Killed in Crash

Services for a Columbia Heights family of four that was killed in a two-vehicle crash have been set. The Dec. 26 crash killed 45-year-old father, Christopher Moe; his 40-year-old wife, Rae; 14-year-old daughter, Samantha, and 12-year-old son, Anthony. The crash happened on Minnesota Highway 65 when the family's SUV collided with another SUV. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Guests are asked to wear Vikings clothes because the family members were big fans. Sunday at the Washburn McReavy Funeral Home, 4101 Central Avenue.
