Head on collision kills two

Dahlman was a 12 year veteran at the Community Memorial Hospital and was on her way to work when the crash happened.

The Minnesota State Patrol investigation has determined 49-year-old Mark Laine of Saginaw had been traveling 84 to 91 miles per hour in a posted 40 mile per hour zone when it struck 54-year-old Fay Dahlman of Alborn. Laine was a 27 year veteran of the Cloquet Police Department and was off duty at the time of the crash. 
Laine and Dahlman were both driving their vehicles on Highway 33 shortly after 11:00pm. Laine, who was traveling northbound, veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with Dahlman, and both drivers were killed. Laine was also not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
