One dead, one injured in Koochiching County crash
One person died and another was injured Wednesday morning in a head-on crash on an icy U.S. Highway 71 in Koochiching County. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the crash happened at about 7:45 a.m. about four miles north of Littlefork. A Mazda Tribute SUV traveling south on Highway 71 crossed the centerline, in what the Patrol said were slippery conditions, and hit a northbound Ford pickup truck head-on.
