Seibert said the pedestrian was on the highway when the accident occurred. "We have a couple of theories about why the person was in traffic, but it's under investigation," Seibert said.

"She was with her family, and they had stopped to offer assistance to a car that was in distress on the interstate," Moody said.

Wendy was an amazing mother and loved her children immensely. She had a big heart, a fiery attitude, and her bright smile could light up any room. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Her life ended how she lived it, selflessly. Her legacy will live on in her children.
A pedestrian died Friday morning after being hit by an 18-wheeler on I-10 near the 55-mile mark. The accident occured around 8:53 a.m. on Friday, October 17 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The identities of the driver and the victim have not yet been released. Police are investigating why the pedestrian was on the highway.
