Authorities Investigate Hit & Run Accident on Highway 49; 1 Arrested

Authorities have arrested one person in connect with a hit and run accident that happened on Sunday.

Man charged in hit-and-run that critically injured pedestrian

Witnesses said the driver of a 2013 gray Nissan left the scene and continued north on Highway 49, police said. Another witness called 911 after spotting the driver, who had pulled over at a church to check out the damage to the Nissan. 

Robert D. Watson has been arrested in connection to a hit and run accident. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and felony DUI resulting in death or difigurement. The victim, Phil Landrum, 44, was left laying in the highway in critical condition at the time of the accident. He was flown to a medical center where he remains in critical condition.
