Four dead, including 2 children, in Copiah County car crash

Mississippi Highway Patrol is on the scene of a crash that has left four people dead, including two children. The crash happened at around 3:15 am on Wednesday morning on I-55 north bound in Copiah County. The driver of a 2014 Hyundai, that had been rented out of Texas, apparently lost control, left the roadway and collided with a tree.

4 from New Orleans die in fatal accident in Mississippi

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says two adults and two children from New Orleans have died in a car crash south of Jackson. A Highway Patrol report says the four were on their way to visit relatives in Missouri. Investigators say it appears the driver fell asleep when the accident occurred about 3:15 a.m. The children in the back seat were an 18-month old girl, Riley Lemieux; and a 4-month-old boy, Bradley Lemieux. The patrol says the driver was 22-year-old Jeanelle Lemieux and the front-seat passenger was 19-year-old Davell Gethers.
