They remember her as a woman devoted to her church and family. Evans volunteered in the women’s ministry at Springs of Praise Church in Crystal Springs. Her husband, Gene Evans, is the church youth minister.

He says the SUV was traveling north when it had a blow out and the driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road and overturned. The driver was taken to UMMC with injuries.

Rhonda Evans died at the scene, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said. Two of her grandsons were flown to a hospital.
