2 killed, multiple injuries reported in multi-car crashes on I-10 in Jackson County, Mississippi

Two people in Jackson County are dead after a series of accidents Interstate 10 on Saturday morning. It happened near mile marker 68, a Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson said. As of 9 a.m. MDOT Traffic Cameras show long back-up near the crash site where the interstate has been blocked off. The first crashes happened in the eastbound lanes of traffic but more crashes were reported in westbound lanes as well. Multiple injuries may also have been reported, the MHP spokesperson said. Additional details on the crash will be given by the Moss Point Police Department. Victim's names have not yet been released. Authorities say they are not sure when that section of the interstate will reopen. They're reconstructing the accident, and won't reopen the interstate until that work is finished, the MHP spokesperson said.
