Nineteen-year old Amber Newsome is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated assault.
The teen accused of running over an Alcorn State University student is out of jail. She was released on a ten-thousand dollar bond.

"For them to charge her with aggravated assault meant she intentionally ran over this young lady,” explained the Claiborne County Sheriff.
The incident happened around 10:30 Wednesday morning on Alcorn's campus. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital. University police are still investigating.
