The Honda ran off the road into a ditch and the Mercury became disabled in the southbound lane of US 61. The passenger in the Mercury, 25-year-old Cassandra Green, got out of the car and walked into the road, where MHP said she was hit by a green Dodge pickup truck that was traveling southbound.
