Missouri boy riding in horse-drawn buggy killed in crash with SUV

Traffic investigators think a driver heading east may have been blinded by the sun when she hit and killed a 10-year-old boy riding in a horse-drawn buggy near a Mennonite village in Livingston County.

Authorities say the driver of the SUV was blinded by the sun and hit the carriage from behind, but the investigation is still ongoing. The vehicle's driver was not injured.
A 44-year-old woman driving an SUV hit a horse-drawn buggy from behind near State Route B and Livingston County Road 277 early Thursday morning. The buggy contained three children on their way to school. One boy was pronounced dead at the scene and the other two were taken to Hedrick Medical Center.
