Stanley Smith, 66, killed and two people injured in crash involving commercial truck on Interstate 55 near Hayti, Missouri

Stanley Smith, 66, of Hayti was driving a 2009 Kia Spectra when he ran off road, struck a cable barrier and the vehicle was disabled in the road. A 2023 Volvo tractor driver by Octavio Vazquez-Vazquez, 34, of Mexico hit Smith’s vehicle., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
