One dead in Texas County accident

A Licking man was killed Wednesday afternoon in an accident northwest of his hometown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  Duell Mallett, 75, was pronounced dead at Texas County Memorial Hospital.  Tpr. Justin D. Piccinino said a southbound 1995 Chevrolet Caprice driven by Justin B. Williams, 35, crossed the centerline of Highway N and struck a northbound 1991 Jeep Cherokee operated by Mallett. Williams refused treatment at the scene and had moderate injuries.  Piccinino said Williams was wearing a seat belt; Duell was not. Both vehicles were totaled.
