Police identify 2 who died in Jefferson County motorcycle crash

Thompson was driving the motorcycle, and Oakes was his passenger, police say.

Their motorcycle ran off the road and struck an embankment early Sunday morning. The two were found near the Plattin Creek overpass, close to the intersection of Boyce Lane and Plattin Road at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, according to Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

That was my nephew and his girlfriend I know of several people that have wrecked got hurt and died and when it hits close to home that's when you start watching for motorcycles out here praying they get home safe as for my nephew he wasn't so lucky like others I have read about it's sad and heart breaking cause once they are gone their is no bringing them back so drivers open your eyes and to those in a motorcycle slow done look around cause you are hard to see you have no protection around you keep both wheels on the ground take a class and for people that want to sale their motorcycle please check and make sure your selling to someone with the license to drive it may who all have died on a motorcycle may you rip and fly high angels no matter who you are you are loved and missed by someone out here and never forgotten
