Tractor-trailer stopped on I-70 sparks crash that kills Warrenton woman
A 55-year-old man from British Columbia was driving a tractor-trailer east on I-70 when he apparently missed his exit, the patrol says. The trucker stopped the tractor-trailer in the left lane in an "attempt to execute several lane changes to exit the interstate after missing his exit," according to the patrol's report.
With the truck stopped in the left lane, Smith was approaching from behind in a 2013 Lincoln MKT. She tried to stop in time but hit the back of the trailer, police say. She died at the scene.
